Countries’ charts, major configurations in general and our leaders’ charts give us a clear indication of the political “wind” and the way it’s going to blow. However, our movies and TV shows also give us clues about the path on which our consciousness is moving. It seems that the scripts chosen, the projects producers are drawn to and the overall tone of entertainment offerings echo the same patterns that influence mass political movements—independently of each other! This lecture will demonstrate this by examining the configurations concurrent with several movies, with special emphasis on Citizen Kane (voted the best movie of all time on a couple occasions, if not more) and the cultural phenomenon, Star Trek. Carole Devine has been a professional Astrologer since 1974 after she completed courses at the Academy of Astrological Studies in San Diego under Gina Ceaglio. Before that she studied with Lionel Day in New York at the American Astrosophical Institute. She holds fourth level NCGR certification and ISAR’s C.A.P. designation. Although Carole holds a BS in Metaphysics, her mainstream educational background has been mainly in the field of journalism and English, hence a love of writing. She has published many articles, a booklet, Celestial Gardening, and several newspaper and magazine columns. Since completing the Exploring Astrology Correspondence Course on 112 CDs in the mid ‘90s, she has published two books, Solar Arc Directions and Star Trek Revealed. Carole is an active lecturer, having been a speaker for two AFA conferences, UAC 2008, regional conferences, many astrological organizations, and other groups in the US. She has lectured about astrology and reincarnation for the Association for Research and Enlightenment (ARE) in Sweden and England. She currently resides in Portsmouth, VA.
